The elusive Uncutt Art, the creator of the Protect Yo Heart movement in collaboration with American Couture, has created bespoke apparel and artwork inspired by Afro-futurism and the Protect Yo Heart street-art aesthetic. The exhibit also features Renaissance artist Voodo Fe and his latest collaboration with the Miles Davis estate and Brooklyn artist Camille Clavery, whose surrealist fantasy collage work explores the juxtaposition of the elements used to create the works' meaning.
Each collection is part artwork and part wearable art, which the artists say will become the future of the true Art X Fashion experience. Artist Camille Clavery takes us into the future with her abstract surrealist collages. The combination of historical, futuristic, and impactful images are placed together to explore the intersection of Black life, meaning, and opulence. Renaissance artist Voodo Fe’ will present pieces from his collaboration with the Miles Davis estate. The artwork and apparel, which launched at the IW Gallery, and the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, has been worn by Donnell Rawlings and Talib Kweli on Saturday Night Live with Dave Chapelle, Hip Hop Pioneer Q-tip, Robby Krieger of The Doors, as well as original Miles Davis collaborators Lenny White, and Will Calhoun.
The future of diversity and cultural expression are on display at Chelsea Market for the “We Are Art” exhibit running through March.
Curated by creative director Zaire Baptiste, this is his 4th exhibit with Chelsea
