My Mom is a FOB

Posman Books. 6PM. "My Mom is a FOB" signing with Serena Wu and Teresa Wu

Date: Jan 05, 2011
Based on the hit blog of the same name, MY MOM IS A FOB deconstructs exactly what it means to be an Asian mother in America, from the perspective of those who love her the most: her children. Originally an acronym for "fresh off the boat," fob has been reclaimed by a young generation of Asian-Americans who define it through their pride in holding onto both sides of their half-Asian, half-American culture. "Fob" or "fobby" is a term now used to describe someone who is culturally unique, hilarious at times (for not quite fully assimilating into the American way of life), but-in the end-still downright loveable and full of inadvertent wisdom worthy of sharing.
