BLACKBARN is a story of worlds coming together: bound by a shared vision for a lifestyle defined by quality, comfort and worldly endeavors, Chef John Doherty came together with renowned interior designer Mark Zeff and his wife Kristen to fuse their food and retail concepts into a single environment at the Chelsea Market shop, cafe and bar.
Mr. and Mrs. Zeff traveled the world to purchase and import unique pieces for the home, available at the shop, and Chef Doherty created a menu that features sophisticated, yet familiar dishes and cocktails. Options like braised octopus and coq au vin are juxtaposed with casual fare like a hearty Cuban sandwich and a rich white pizza, while his bar offers a cocktail program that gives a modern twist to classic drinks utilizing his custom BLACKBARN blends.
All of the dishes, glasses and linens used at the cafe & bar were specially curated by Chef Doherty and interior designer Mark Zeff, and are available for purchase in a vignetted area of the attached shop.
