How do I rent the event and sample sale space?

Is there a public access WiFi network at Chelsea Market?
Yes, it's named "ChelseaMarketPublicWiFi" and it's free. Not "Free Public WiFi" (which is actually PC malware and so something you'd want to avoid) or anything else.
I am a photographer/buyer. Who do I contact about art in the Market?
We currently do not accept unsolicited photo submissions/please see information regarding purchase of the current artists' work, including contact info, onsite and on the walls of the market under each existing piece.
Aren't 3G, EDGE and WiFi all the same thing?
No, they aren't. 3G and EDGE transmit on totally different frequencies from WiFi and most phone company transmitters don't have sufficient signal strength to penetrate the Chelsea Market building. Only one company does but that's because they have booster transmitters inside the building itself. That's why the WiFi transmitters were installed and made freely available for public use.
How do I get access to the free, public access WiFi network named "ChelseaMarketPublicWiFi"?
First, switch on and connect your WiFi capable device (laptop, iPhone, iPod touch, etc.) to the "ChelseaMarketPublicWiFi" network. Next, bring up a web browser (any one you wish, we aren't particular) and connect to any website you choose. Instead of that website showing up initially, you should be redirected to an End User License Agreement page where you have to agree to the terms of use before we let you out into the Internet. If you agree, scroll down to the bottom of the page (iPhone, iPod Touch and other small PDA users will obviously have to zoom in to read all this) and click the appropriate button. Then the Chelsea Market webpage will show up. Afterwards, you can connect to anywhere on the Internet (including whatever mailserver you may be using) to your heart's content for as long as you want (there are no time limits aside from Chelsea Market itself closing for the evening). Remember that the bandwidth you are using is shared with other users in the public areas of Chelsea Market, so please don't be a bandwidth hog.
Are there positions available in the market?
Please contact individual stores directly. Retail and Restaurants page.
How come it doesn't seem to be working for me or I get a terribly slow data rate even when I'm standing under one of the transmitters?
Are you using an iPhone or other PDA with a phone built-in (i.e., not an iPod Touch)? Are you also receiving a weak signal from the phone company's 3G or EDGE network? Do you even have WiFi switched on? Try switching off 3G and ensuring that WiFi is switched on and try connecting again. Sometimes, devices like iPhones and other PDAs with built-in phones which have access to multiple data signal sources available will default to the last used source regardless of how weak it is (unless the weak signal is switched off or completely unavailable) and ignore a much more powerful signal that's available.
